Ghorfa
A vaulted storage cell, particularly characteristic of the fortified granaries (agadir, igherm) of southern Morocco and the Berber ksour of southern Tunisia (Tataouine, Chenini). Ghorfas are typically stacked in tiers around a central courtyard, accessed by external stairs or ladders. Each cell is owned by a single family and used to store grain, oil, or other valuables.
