Inflas
The council of elder representatives in the customary governance of the Anti-Atlas igherm and the southern Moroccan ksour. The inflas are typically heads of household or lineage representatives who together constitute the village jma'a; they elect the amghar, ratify customary law (izref) on land tenure and water distribution, supervise the custodian of the collective granary (lamin n agadir), and adjudicate disputes that do not require the intervention of state authorities. The institution is one of the best-documented features of pre-colonial Anti-Atlas social organisation.
